The Sam Tet Brass Band was established on the 28th February 1972. It was founded by the school teacher, Mr Joseph Wong Meng Hua who was also the composer of the school song. The purpose for the formation of the band is to instill the love of music among the students.The band started its first practise on 28th February 1973 and made its first performance on the same year.
Mr Hon Hew Choong is the first instructor for the band. He had started to lead the band from year 2002 until 2004. His guide and guidance had placed the band at the position of one of the outstanding bands in Ipoh. The year 2003 was a very memorable year for the Band as the Band had organised its first concert with the theme '' Fantasia In Spring'' . With the great efforts of Mr. Hon and all the band members, the concert was carried out successfully and contributed in the fund raising programme of purchasing instruments.
Currently, the band is under the guidance of a new instructor - Mr. Yeap Meng Hon. The band latest achievement was winning the second runner-up in the Perak State Marching Band Competition & 4th place in the National Day Parade. It is hoped that the band commitment will continue to win recognition of the public & to achieve our motto - One Band One sound; One For All, All For One.
